The Pãkotsi Ashaninka (Ashaninka House) will be a demonstration space for Ashaninka culture in the town of Cruzeiro do Sul, Acre: a visitor centre, a space for cultural tourism, and a bridge between the peoples of the forest and the town.
By this means we wish to show and present our culture to the general public, who will be able to find out more through exhibitions and Ashaninka indigenous art available in the shop. The space will also offer accommodation and information on the projects being undertaken by our community.
The premises, which will operate as the headquarters of our Associação Apiwtxa and our Cooperativa Ayõpare, will house the offices and all the administrative functions of our community institutions. Its architectural design will reflect the different facets of our people: its traditions, identity, culture and spirituality.
Pãkotsi Ashaninka will be located in the city of Cruzeiro do Sul, with easy access to the AC-405 highway.
